FSS held two online sessions of the student orientation for postgraduates and undergraduates recently. Over 585 freshmen joined FSS this year for 5 undergraduate programmes, 9 master degree programmes and 7 doctoral degree programmes.
Prof Richard Weixing HU, Dean of FSS delivered welcome remarks to all the freshmen. He mentioned that Social Science is one of the oldest subjects at UM and introduced the latest development of the faculty, including our faculty members and the information of overseas exchange. In terms of both quality and quantity of academic research, the subjects in Psychology and Social Sciences, General from FSS was ranked among the top 1% in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database. While department heads as well as programme coordinators shared their experiences at the programme briefings with FSS students.
