Prof. Hu Weixing, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Macau, was interviewed by CGTN recently on NPC’s (National People’s Congress) decision of establishing and improving the legal system and enforcement mechanisms for HKSAR to safeguard national security. Prof. Hu said that Macao has put in place an effective mechanism for safeguarding national security since enacting a local law on Article 23 of the Basic Law of Macao in 2009. There has been no one in Macao who was prosecuted for national security crimes in the past eleven years. The Macao National Security Law has effectively curbed acts threatening national security and maintained the stability of Macao society, economic prosperity, and the long-term stability of “One Country, Two Systems”.
澳門大學社會科學學院院長胡偉星教授日前接受中國環球電視網（CGTN）訪問，談及全國人大最近關於香港國家安全立法的必要性。他認為，澳門早於2009年就《基本法》第二十三條本地立法，建立了一套行之有效的維護國家安全機制，澳門過去十一年沒有人因國家安全罪被起訴。《維護國家安全法》有效地遏制破壞國家安全行為，維護了澳門社會穩定、經濟繁榮和一國兩制的長治久安。
