March 25, 2024. An international relations group of students from the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Department of Government and Public Administration – University of Macao visited Banco Nacional Ultramarino (BNU) and the Rui Cunha Foundation – C&C Lawyers. Students arrived at Rui Cunha Foundation led by Professor Francisco José Leandro. The representatives of BNU and C&C lawyers warmly received the visiting group of students from the University of Macao.
The field visit is divided into two phases. First, the company representative of BNU and C&C lawyers showed the background and operation mode of BNU and C&C lawyers to the students. Moreover, the representative explained how BNU and C&C lawyers serve clients in China, MSAR, GBA and the Portuguese-speaking countries and how they build business relations between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
Students actively participated in the discussion and raised questions based on the presentation with focus on the Banking and legal cooperation between MSAR, GBA and the Portuguese-speaking countries. After the presentation, Professor Leandro presented gifts with Sino-Portuguese characteristics, on behalf of the UM/Rector Professor Yonghua Song, to the representatives of BNU and C&C lawyers respectively.
Subsequently, the delegation followed the representatives to conduct a field visit. During the visit, the students further explored the working mode and working environment of BNU and C&C lawyers and continued to discuss relevant issues with the representatives.
This field visit helped students broaden their horizons and explore the operation mode and related knowledge of different industries. Furthermore, this visit helps students to develop a more holistic view of the world and understand the different channels and ways of establishing links between MSAR, GBA and the Portuguese-speaking countries.
