More than 40 students of the Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) programme in the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) at the University of Macau (UM) were on a study tour to Beijing to learn about the social development and public administration practices of the capital city. During the trip, the DPA students visited various academic institutions, including the Central Party School of the Chinese Communist Party (National Academy of Governance) and Peking University’s School of Government. They engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges views with the faculty and students there on issues of public service delivery, institutional reforms, and smart governance. The group also visited the Beijing Municipal Government’s Public Service Centre, a social service organisation and a sub-district neighbourhood office to gain insights into local public administration and governance practices in Beijing.
