The University of Macau (UM) and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) signed a framework agreement on academic exchange and collaboration. Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate on academic research, educational activities, student exchange, mutual visits of teaching and research personnel, and other areas, and will jointly promote the development of higher education and scientific research in Shanghai and Macao.
The SIIS is a senior research institute and internationally renowned think tank affiliated with the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. It has long been dedicated to the comprehensive study of contemporary international political, economic, diplomatic, and security issues. The institute also has deep expertise in the study of issues of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and has nurtured many outstanding research professionals who can adapt to the development of the new era.
The Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) has been building up a good relationship with SIIS in academic exchange and collaboration. Based on this new agreement, FSS will continue to serve as a privileged platform between UM and SIIS.
