Information about Linköping University

Linköping University (LiU) is one of Sweden’s larger academic institutions and among those that offer the largest number of professional degree programmes, in fields such as medicine, education, business, economics and engineering. Research is conducted within a variety of disciplines, with strong internationally recognised research environments, e.g. materials science, information technology and disability studies.

Since gaining university status in 1975 (and before that, too), LiU has worked with innovation in education and research. For example we were first in Sweden to introduce interdisciplinary thematic research, problem-based learning (PBL), graduate schools and several innovative study programmes.

Who can apply for this exchange program?

All FSS Bachelor students with a CGPA greater than 3.0 and FSS Master students with a CGPA greater than 3.3 (both CGPAs slightly below are acceptable) are eligible to apply. Bachelor candidates must have completed their first two years of study in UM by the start date of the exchange period.

Estimated Costs for One-Semester Exchange (Around 5 Months)

Students will pay their tuition fees to the University of Macau (no further tuition costs will be charged by the Linköping University) and meet all the expenses associated with this exchange, such as but not limited to, air tickets, visa application fee, boarding fee, subsistence etc. For Master students, please refer to http://www.umac.mo/grs/en/tuition_fees.php for tuition fee to be paid during exchange.

On average, the estimated living expenses are around SEK8,200 (approx. HKD7,500) (amount valid 2018) per month. For more details please visit below website provided by the Linköping University:

  4. Transcript in English (since year 1) (Students are required to obtain an official transcript from Registry (for Bachelor) or from Graduate School (for Master))
  5. Any other supportive documents that will help you get into this program.

Please note that all selected students have to apply visas on their own.
