The Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) of the University of Macau, was ranked 97th in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2020 in the subject of psychology. The ranking was 151-175th last year.

The THE World University rankings are recognized as one of the most influential university rankings in the world and it covers several disciplines, including physical sciences, psychology, business and economics, education, law etc. The universities are assessed across 13 performance indicators under five categories, namely teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook. The ranking includes 494 universities, up from 463 last year.

The ranking demonstrates outstanding performance of the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, as well as the great efforts of the university in advancing academic and research development.
