
Five professors from FSS have been included in the “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2025” list released by Stanford University. This list, published by Prof. John P. A. Ioannidis’ team at Stanford University and the Elsevier Data Repository. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields according to the standard Science-Metrix classification. They use Scopus data to select the top 2% of scientists worldwide based on their “Career-long Citation Impact” and “Single Year Citation Impact”. Career-long data are updated to end-of-2024 and single recent year data pertain to citations received during calendar year 2024. Five professors from the FSS hence were selected in various fields.
Department of Communication
Prof. Xinshu Zhao: Chair Professor in the Department of Communication, with research interests in marketing, business administration, and quantitative social research. He was included in both the “Career-long Citation Impact” and 2025 “Single Year Citation Impact” lists.
Department of Economics
Prof. Angus Chu: Head and Distinguished Professor in the Department of Economics, with research interests in macroeconomics, economic growth, innovation, intellectual property rights, monetary economics, and population economics. He was included in the 2025 “Single Year Citation Impact” list.
Department of Psychology
Prof. Lei Chang: Head and Chair Professor in the Department of Psychology, with research interests in evolutionary psychology and developmental psychology. He was included in both the “Career-long Citation Impact” and 2025 “Single Year Citation Impact” lists.
Prof. Todd Jackson: Professor in the Department of Psychology, with research interests in clinical psychology and health psychology. He was included in both the “Career-long Citation Impact” and 2025 “Single Year Citation Impact” lists.
Prof. Anise Wu: Professor in the Department of Psychology, with research interests in health psychology, psychiatry, and public health, particularly focusing on various behavioral addictions (e.g., gambling disorder, internet addiction and problematic smartphone use). She was included in the 2025 “Single Year Citation Impact” list.
