UM Fencing Team wins 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 4 Bronzes at Guangzhou Fencing Open 2018

UM Fencing Team has sent 12 members to participate in Guangzhou Fencing Open 2018 which was held from 29 Apr to 1 May 2018 in Guangzhou. This year’s event attracted 1,097 contestants from Guangdong province, Hong Kong, and Macao.

12 members of the UM Fencing Team won a total of 6 medals (1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronzes) in men’s and women’s youth group categories.

21 members of the University of Macau (UM) Fencing Team recently won three gold medals, three silver medals, and eight bronze medals at a local inter-varsity fencing competition organised by the Macau Universitarian Sports Association. The team swept all the prizes in the men’s and women’s foil categories.

澳門大學劍擊隊日前於“2017-2018年度全澳大學生劍擊錦標賽”表現出色,共贏得3金3銀8銅的佳績,並囊括男女子花劍項目全部獎項。

澳大派出21名劍擊選手參賽,經過兩日激烈角逐,男女子花劍項目冠軍分別由科技學院學生陸啟宏,社會科學學院、蔡繼有書院學生何嘉愉奪得;而社會科學學院、滿珍紀念書院方凝則贏得女子重劍項目冠軍。

是次錦標賽由澳門專上學生體育聯會主辦,在澳門東亞運動會體育館劍擊場舉行。本屆賽事共有6個項目,共67人參與。

UM Swimming Team sent 4 female and 1 male students to participate in the “17th All China University Swimming Championship” in Ganzhou, China from 17-23 Nov, 2017.

All five UM students were required to participate in the Advanced Level (Category A). CHEN WANHENG finished with 36.22 seconds and got a 6th runner-up in the Women’s 50M Breaststroke (Category A). In addition, CHEONG CHOU HEI received the Sports Ethics Award.

“2017 Macau Open International Taekwondo Championships” was organized by Macau Taekwondo Association (MTA), and it has been held on 28-30 Oct. UM Taekwondo Team sent one team member, Tam Chi Kin (FSS/CYTC) to participate in the fighting competition.

Four students from the University of Macau (UM) Martial Arts Team recently won three gold medals at a national inter-varsity martial arts tournament held in Loudi, Hunan province. The competition attracted 894 contestants from 88 universities in China.

2017年中國大學生武術錦標賽10月2日至8日在湖南婁底舉行,澳大派出4名學生分別參加丙組及丁組共10項的個人賽事,並憑著出色的表現勇奪3項個人冠軍。是次比賽吸引了全國88所院校共894名運動員參加。

澳大教育學院、何鴻燊東亞書院學生吳振邦在男子丙組洪拳中奪得冠軍,以及丙組其他太極器械第7名。女子組方面,法學院博士生范雪珂在丁組太極器械類中排名第1,並獲得丁組傳統器械及丁組傳統拳類季軍;教育學院、滿珍紀念書院學生韋佩程在丙組單器械中擊敗其餘20多名對手奪冠,並在丙組象形拳項目獲得亞軍;社會科學學院、蔡繼有書院學生郭欣然在丙組陳式太極拳中排名第4。除此之外,學生韋佩程、教練黎任芳和澳大武術隊獲得大會頒發體育道德風尚獎。

Five athletes from the University of Macau (UM) recently received outstanding athlete awards at the Macao Outstanding Athlete Voting 2017. The recipients of the Macao Outstanding Athlete Award are UM Swimming Team members Lei On Kei and Chao Man Hou, UM Basketball Team member Lai Ka Tong, and alumnus and local footballer Pang Chi Hang. UM freshman Lin Sizuang received an Outstanding Junior Athlete Award. Lei also received the gold award in the Most Popular Athletes category. The Macao University 3×3 Basketball Team formed by Lai and another UM student Sou Wa Chak both received the Outstanding Merit Award. In addition, the UM alumnus and football coach Tam Iao San received the silver award in the Outstanding Coaches category. The voting was co-organised by the Sports Bureau and Macao Sports Weekly.

“2017澳門傑出運動員選舉”日前揭曉,澳大學生“蛙后”利安琪、“蛙王”周文顥、“澳門姚明”黎家棟,以及澳大校友、澳門足球先生彭梓亨均獲澳門“傑出運動員”獎項;澳大新生林思庄獲“傑出青少年運動員”;校友、足球教練譚又新獲“傑出教練員銀獎”。當中利安琪更獲“最受歡迎運動員金獎”;黎家棟和蘇華澤亦以“專上三人籃球隊”獲“傑出嘉許獎”。

兩年一度的“澳門傑出運動員選舉”由體育局及澳門體育週報合辦,其目的旨在表彰及嘉許過去兩年曾為澳門在各地的國際賽事中屢獲殊榮,為澳門增光的運動員。今屆“澳門傑出運動員選舉”設“傑出運動員”、“傑出青少年運動員”、“傑出運動組合”、“最受歡迎運動員”、“傑出教練員”及“傑出嘉許獎” 獎項。

Two University of Macau (UM) students won three gold, two silver, and two bronze medals at the 13th National Student Sports Game. The two students are Chao Man Hou, a fourth-year student from the Faculty of Social Sciences; and Lei On Kei, a postgraduate student from the Faculty of Education.

On the first day of the competition, Chao and Lei each won a gold medal, in the men’s 100-metre breaststroke category and the women’s 100-metre breaststroke category, respectively. Chao then won another gold medal in the men’s 200-metre breaststroke category, as well as a silver medal in the men’s 50-metre breaststroke category on the last day of the event.

In addition to a gold medal, Lei also won a bronze medal in the women’s 50-metre breaststroke category, as well as a silver medal and another bronze medal.

Two University of Macau (UM) students recently each won a gold medal in the 13th National Student Sports Game. The two students are Chao Man Hou, a fourth-year student from the Faculty of Social Sciences; and Lei On Kei, a postgraduate student from the Faculty of Education.

Chao finished first in the men’s 100-metre breaststroke category in 1:03.21 and won the first gold medal for Macao in the competition, while Lei finished first in the women’s 100-metre breaststroke category in 1:12.27 and won the second gold medal for Macao.

Chao appreciates the support of his teammates, saying that he is very happy to win a medal in a national competition even though the finishing time is not his best record. Lei is happy to equalise her best record, adding that there is still room for improvement and she will work hard to prepare herself for the Asian Games to be held in Jakarta in 2018.
