A delegation led by Jinghui Qiu, Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of Guangzhou’s Nansha district, and Zhengdong Wan, Deputy Director of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of Guangzhou’s Nansha district, recently visited the University of Macau (UM) to learn about the operation and development of the students’ innovation, entrepreneurship and employment. They exchanged views on science and innovation industries and talent exchange, and looked forward to strengthening relevant cooperation in the future. The delegation was warmly received by Professor Seng Fat Wong, Interim College Master of Cheng Yu Tung College, Professor Tianji Cai, Associate Dean of FSS, and Professor Kin Sun Chan, Programme Coordinator of Master in Government and Public Administration.
The delegation visited the University Gallery, University Library, Cheng Yu Tung College and Faculty of Social Sciences. Prof. Cai of FSS dicussed about theGuangdong-Macao cooperation is conducive to knowledge, technology and talent integration, saying Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will provide more internship opportunities. The delegation highly praised UM’s development, especially its achievements in science and technology innovation. It is hoped that the launch of Nansha’s “New Ten Rules for the Employment and Entrepreneurship of Hong Kong and Macao Youth” would effectively support scientific and technological innovation, social services and talent cultivation. During the meeting, both sides said that the cooperation will contribute to the development of youth in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, hoping to integrate their respective advantages and strengthen cooperation in scientific research and innovation, industrial linkage and talent exchange.
